Comparing yourself to other people
Comparing yourself to other people will set you up for despair. It will have you feel not good enough and what´s even sadder, it might even set you on the wrong path in life.
Instead, we need to look at what is most beneficial for ourselves. Whenever we compare ourselves to others, we are not being realistic simply because we do not have all the data. There is no point in me comparing my life or doings to what I can see on the surface of your life and your doings.
Besides, there will always be people around us who are better at what we are just beginning to learn. It is far more valuable to focus on improvement. It will make the journey of learning much more enjoyable, which will hopefully also keep us motivated.
Instead of comparing yourself to other people, you might want to focus on thinking “Who am I, and what do I want to become?” That is a far more relevant question.
Practicing thought work is very powerful. I would suggest you read the post: The great power of thought
⠀
Taking this a step further you might even want to ask yourself “how do I want to have lived?” Looking at your life from a distance, what would the answer be?
Does it include a more fancy car, a more spacious home, a designer dress or purse… Or does it maybe include peace of mind, growth, and living a life on purpose?⠀
